New Beginnings NATP is a vocational school that proudly serves the Dayton and Montgomery County area to provide quality nurse aide training. The course uses the curriculum that has been approved by the Ohio Department of Health. Graduates of the course will receive a certificate of completion of the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program making them eligible to take the state test to become an STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide or State Tested Nursing Assistant).
We offer various 2-week and 3-week daytime and evening course sessions to fit into nearly any schedule. (Please check our calendar to view upcoming class sessions.)
Tuition Grants and Payment Plans
New Beginnings is a federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) approved training provider, which means that, if you qualify (must be age 18+), the WIOA grant will pay your tuition for our STNA classes as well as reimburse for the state test. The application for this grant is submitted and processed through the county. For more information about how to apply, call the WIOA office at 937-225-5531.
We also participate in the Miami Valley Urban League’s Youth Employment and Training Program (YETP) which allows qualifying applicants (ages 16-24) to receive a grant for tuition and state testing. For more information please contact the Urban League at 937-226-1513 ext. 14.
Additionally, we have payment plans available to help make funding your education more manageable. (For more information, please contact us.)
New Beginnings NATP provides an effective, state approved training course with affordable tuition of only $350. (Discounted rates are available for high school students).
State Testing On Site
New Beginnings is also a state testing site. Being a test site allows for New Beginnings alumni to test in a familiar environment. Additionally it serves as a convenient testing location for nearby graduates from other Dayton area STNA programs.
We also offer state test skills review sessions. The skills review session reviews each of the 25 testable skills for the Ohio Nurse Aide Competency Test (state test). The skills review is open to anyone who has an active nurse aide certificate (received within the past 24 months) who would like a refresher in preparation for taking the state nurse aide exam. Skills review sessions are free to New Beginnings Alumni and $25 for non-alumni.
We are conveniently located on Shiloh Springs Road, right off of the U.S. 35 connector in Trotwood near ST. RT. 49. We are also on the Greater Dayton RTA bus line (#14) and in walking distance of the RTA Northwest bus hub. More details can be found on our location page.
